Dr. Jan Garcia, Jr., M.D.

Dr. Garcia is a Board Certified Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon who has been practicing in the Clear Lake area and south Houston for over seventeen years.

He has been Chief of Surgery at Mainland Center Hospital and Memorial Hospital Southeast. He founded and has been directing Medical Missions Possible since its onset in 1985.

He was born in Puerto Rico and completed his Medical Degree at University of Puerto Rico School of Tropical Medicine in 1975. Shortly thereafter, he started his General Surgery residency at Baylor College of Medicine which was briefly interrupted for 3 years while he served in the U.S. Navy as medical officer and department head aboard two nuclear submarine tenders. He returned in 1979 to Baylor College of Medicine and in 1981 started his Plastic and Reconstructive surgery training at UTMB in Galveston, Texas which was completed in 1984. Since then he has been a successful Plastic Surgeon in the Clear Lake area and has received multiple awards and recognitions, not only for his excellent work, but for his humanitarian missionary work abroad.

He has five lovely children and enjoys sailing, flying, playing tennis, reading, music and the arts.
